Creating a Picture Book – Introduction

Writing Instructor: Jen Bailey
with Art Instructor: Lise Duford
Saturday 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
October 18 to December 13

Ever wondered what it takes to create a picture book for children? The combination of pictures and words seems magical, but it arises from deliberate choices made by the author/illustrator. In this course we’ll explore character, setting, plot, movement, and gestures, and, through storyboarding, you will make a story of your own imagination, ultimately producing a picture book.
(Options exist for digital or hand-crafted book. Laptop computer or tablet required for digital rendering.)

Your Own Picture Book!

Writing Instructor: Jen Bailey
Art Instructor: Lise Duford

For children who love a good story and can’t stop telling their own! We’ll explore character, setting, plot, movement, and gestures, and, just like author/illustrators, we’ll create a storyboard that will culminate in a magical picture book to share.
